The situation
Field & Forest ran their catalog on WooCommerce. Product pages took four seconds to render, every sale event was a performance drill, and their theme was a fork of a fork of a fork.
What we did
- Migrated 12,000 SKUs, 60,000 product images, and full order history references
- Modeled products with reusable blocks instead of a graveyard of custom fields
- Rebuilt the storefront on Next.js with incremental static regeneration
- Kept payment processing untouched — the migration was content-side only
The result
Checkout throughput rose 190%. Page speed scores went from the low 30s to the high 90s. The merchandising team now edits product content without a developer in the loop — which, they tell us, is the real win.
